We use 5/4-inch lumber throughout our entire product line with the finished thickness of 1 1/16 inches. Mahogany is a tropical hardwood that is easily maintained and naturally insect- fungus- and rot-resistant. It is a hard strong wood comparable in strength to oak and teak and is much more scratch-resistant than softer woods like cedar and pine.
